Product description

This package includes a very recently upgraded Pro2 console with a few shows under its belt and many accessories and spare parts. Every component in the system has been in my possession since I purchased it new and is in perfect working condition. I was a Midas dealer, and this is the console I used as a demo and a few select shows. See system details below:

PRO2 CONSOLE:

  • This console has just been upgraded with a new main board. The new board upgrades the DVI remote screen to a display port (new connector on the back of the console) and gives the console faster operation, larger amounts of storage, and a much longer lifespan. This is an expensive upgrade option that guarantees many more years of operation as it brings new life to one of the best consoles ever made. This upgrade was just completed, and the console is ready for its new life. It comes complete with the Midas touring road case (-TP) that has never actually toured. It also includes the classic Midas “Tilt-back” stand that was traditionally used on their large format analog consoles.

RACKS:

  • Midas DL231 Dual analog control preamp racks (2 – 48ch in, 48ch out) - One of the most under marketed features that is unique to Midas is that they have a rack that has (2) digitally controlled analog pre-amps and (2) Analog to digital converters for EACH channel. This allows a FOH console and monitor console to have the equivalent of an analog split without having to have a rack for each console. The rack to console connections can even run at 2 different sample rates, making it possible to use a Midas DL32, Behringer Wing, or X32 for monitors while at the same time the Pro2 is mixing FOH. The shock-mount rack included in this package includes (2) Midas DL231 racks giving a total of 48 inputs and 48 outputs and the capability of serving 2 consoles simultaneously. It also includes a 24-port network switch and power conditioner allowing the rack to be powered from a single Edison connection.

ADDITIONAL INTERFACES – Dante, MADI, AES 50:

  • Included in this package are several interfaces to make this console compatible with multiple audio formats used in today’s event production. A 4RU shock mount rack that can be conveniently located next to the console, resting on the case is included in this package. This rack contains the following equipment:
    • - Klark Teknik 9650 with Dante Card installed. This interface will bridge up to 64 channels of audio in both directions between the console and any Dante compatible device. This is independent of the rack connections, which use separate AES50 connections
    • - Klark Teknik 9650 with MADI Card Installed. This interface will bridge to the 56/64 channel formats of MADI, commonly used by Digico and other consoles.
    • - Klark Teknik 9610 (2) channel AES50 extender for doubling the distance
    • - 5-port network switch and power conditioner with lights

ADDITIONAL ITEMS:

  • In addition to the items already mentioned, I have several spare parts from working on other Midas consoles over the years. I have the original documents that came with this console, along with the following spare parts:
    • - 7 spare LED screen buttons – These are “channel select” buttons on the console. All of these are functioning perfect on the console, but these are spares I used to fix other consoles.
    • - 1 motorized fader – This is a brand new, in original packaging motorized fader. All of the faders on the console are working perfect, but this is a spare for the future in case it is ever needed
    • - 1 LED screen – This is a new, replacement LED screen. This is a direct replacement for the LED screen of a Pro1 or Pro2.

About the manufacturer

In 1971, around the same time that Midas Amplification were making their transistorised guitar amplifiers, up in the English Midlands another company was formed by brothers Philip and Terence Clarke, which produced coin-operated car washing and vacuuming machines.
