Assemblies are usually fusion spliced on a backbone or outside plant cable for quick terminations and a consistent overall low loss. Jacket OD is 900 micron buffered. The fiber terminations of the Corning glass within our assemblies are machine polished. The result is a much lower light loss than can be achieved by hand polishing in the field. Each connector is tested for light loss of less than 0.4 db and scoped individually for defects.
