A lot of pedals and rack mounted units have an input for an expression pedal like the EV-10. The expression pedal will enable the player to adjust one parameter of the unit it is connected to. In the case of a FT-2, Dynamic Filter, it will turn the pedal into a proper wah pedal. If connected to a PH-3, Phase Shifter, the expression pedal will adjust the rate control.
