March 2021 – Customer Service/AccountingFilled!

We are seeking a full-time person to step into the role of Customer Service/Accounting, available Monday to Friday during normal business hours. The ideal candidate will be organized, understand standard bookkeeping processes and procedures, and be comfortable dealing with customers on a daily basis.  

GearSource is a remote employer. Successful candidates will be required to maintain a separate work area, have a dedicated computer system, with secure high speed internet and be able to conduct business calls and video conference meetings privately, without interruptions or distractions.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Manage incoming and outgoing payment process for a busy online marketplace
  • Assist both buyers and sellers with onboarding processes for payment services
  • Manage the online tax system (Avatax)
  • Track expenses, budgets, cash flow, receipts and other financial dealings of the company
  • Provide financial reports as required to senior management
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable and do weekly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare month-end, quarter-end and year-end financials.



  • Training in accounting/bookkeeping and/or several years related experience required
  • Knowledge in creating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Knowledge of online bookkeeping/taxes 
  • Familiarity with online Marketplace processes and transactions is a huge asset
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented is a must


Timeframe and Compensation:

  • April 1, 2021 or sooner

  • System training provided

  • Salary is based on experience and skill set

  • Good computer skills

  • Good spoken and written English a must – European reps require at least 1 other language

  • Passionate about customer service

  • Strong work-ethic – able to work with minimal supervision

  • Remote position – must have dedicated home workspace, with the necessary up-to-date business tools, including Smart phone
