We’re proud to announce a critical addition to our GearSource leadership team: **Mark Stephen Yee** joins our tech company as **Finance Director**, overseeing the revisioning and expansion of our financial operations as we prepare for a major growth phase.

Over the past several years, GearSource — like many businesses — faced unprecedented challenges. First came the impact of COVID-19, a blow to the live events industry that fundamentally shifted how we operated. Unlike many companies in our space, our unique business model never allowed us to borrow traditionally against inventory or future receivables, which made navigating the shutdowns even more complex.

Just as the industry began to recover, we were dealt another significant setback in 2022. A startup software vendor, whose platform became integrated into key parts of our business, failed to deliver — causing GearSource to lose most of its web traffic and massive revenue, virtually overnight.

But adversity fuels innovation.

Since then, we’ve rebuilt our tech stack entirely, not only restoring lost ground but positioning GearSource as a leader in technology-driven marketplace solutions. With innovations like our GearSync® listing tools and AI-driven search experiences, plus an entirely new add-on site this summer, we are once again setting the pace in our industry.

Now, with Mark Stephen Yee’s leadership in finance, we are taking the next critical step.

Rather than seeking outside capital, which often comes with loss of control and misaligned interests, GearSource is pursuing an operating loan to fund its future — keeping the company lean, independent, and founder-driven. Mark brings the expertise and discipline needed to ensure that our financial foundation matches the innovation and ambition already driving our marketplace and technology strategies.

With this strengthened financial strategy, GearSource is entering a new phase of growth beginning in 2025 and beyond — bigger, smarter, and more resilient than ever.
